README
	This file

aisnobol.zip
Michael G. Shafto's Artificial Intelligence Programming in
	SNOBOL4 (report & SNOBOL4 code)

doc/arizona/
Some of Griswold's SNOBOL4 documentaton files from University
of Arizona. Source files are in Unix troff, but many depend
on missing private macro definitions. It might make as much
sense to translate them to HTML as to try to get them to
format properly under troff or groff.

doc/pb/
SNOBOL4 document S4D58; The SIL manual. I've managed
to get it to format NEARLY identically to the printed copy.
Available in PostScript, PDF (Adobe Acrobat), and source
files for formatting under groff (GNU Troff), using
a SNOBOL4 program for box preprocessing.

gimpel.zip
Programs from James F. Gimpel's "ALGORITHMS IN SNOBOL4"
("The Orange Book") -- a monumental collection of programs
	and functions implemented in SNOBOL4.

snobol4-.....tar.gz
	(compressed with GNU zip (gzip))

CSNOBOL4: An open source implementation of SNOBOL4 for 32+ bit
	systems with C compilers

snocone-patches.shar.gz
patches to run snocone (from ftp://snobol4.com/snocone)
	under CSNOBOL4 (see above)

vanilla.tar.gz
	(compressed with GNU zip (gzip))

	Catspaw "Vanilla SNOBOL4"; converted from
	cs.arizona.edu:/snobol4/vanilla.arc. Includes DOS/PC SNOBOL4
port, sample programs, extensive SNOBOL4 documentation.

NOTE: Catspaw considers this to be a copyrighted collection.
Mark Emmer gave his permission to redistribute it so long as
the collection is UNMODIFIED (no files added, modified or
	removed).

The primary purpose of providing these files was to make them
	available in a Unix-readable format!

The Brighton University Resource Kit for Students now has HTML
translations of the Vanilla SNOBOL4 documentation, once
	available at http://burks.bton.ac.uk/burks/language/snobol/
	and now available at http://www.regressive.org/snobol4/doc/burks/

The Catspaw Macro SPITBOL Manual is also available as
	ftp://ftp.snobol4.com/spitman.pdf (Adobe Acrobat format)

Win10/
Binary distributions of CSNOBOL4 for Windows 10 (and 8?)

old/
	Older releases of CSNOBOL4

misc/ftp.cs.arizona.edu
Files from old University of Arizona CS Department ftp server

misc/pdp10/
	PDP-10 implementations of SNOBOL4

    decbol/
	PDP-10 port of Macro SNOBOL4
from DECUS library [43,50150] (program 10-104?)
	http://pdp-10.trailing-edge.com/decuslib10-01/index.html

    fasbol/
FASBOL II, A SNOBOL4 compiler for the DEC-10. Written in FASBOL II,
a SNOBOL4 subset, compiles to MACRO-10 assembly language,
which is then linked with a run-time library.

From the DECUS library [53,50263] (program 10-179)
	http://pdp-10.trailing-edge.com/decuslib10-02/

    snobol-x/
SNOBOL-X ("SNOBOL TEN") for the PDP-10. An offshoot of SNOBOL
6.3 (SNOBOL3 for the PDP-6). SNOBOL-X was Developed at Harvard
by Geoffrey Peck, Monte Davidoff et al to maintain the WHRB
        radio station record catalog.
